Ambetter Insurance Cook County

Common Symptoms Associated with Disc Issues: Low back pain, Tingling sensation, Burning sensation, Numbness, Hip pain, Groin pain, Leg pain, Knee pain, Calf pain, Foot/toe pain

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, you could have a bulging disc or a herniated disc in your spine. One solution to these conditions is surgery, but here at the American Back Center, we believe in a non-invasive approach. Our Chicago clinic treats bulging and herniated disc problems with a gentle, non-invasive spinal decompression treatment called Vax-D therapy. Call the American Back Center for a consultation today, and let us make a difference in your life.

Understanding Herniated and Bulging Disc Problem

The spinal column consists of the bones running down the center of your back called vertebrae. In between the vertebrae are discs, which serve as cushions between the individual vertebral bones. Discs are made up of two parts, a harder outer layer (annulus) and a gel-like center (nucleus pulposus). Although there are veins and arteries in the vertebrae around the disc, there is no direct blood flow to the discs themselves in an adult body. This reduces the disc’s ability to heal itself. And it does need to heal because as the body ages, even something as trivial as a sneeze can create tiny cracks in the outer layers of the disc, which can lead to bulging or herniation.

Bulging Disc

A bulging disc occurs when those cracks we mentioned earlier lead to small tears along the outer layers of the disc. That allows the center material to push or ˜bulge’ outward, creating a sort of a bump on the outside of the disc. That bump can put pressure on the nerves around the disc, causing painful, burning or tingling sensations.

Herniated Disc

Disc herniation is pretty much the same as disc bulging, but the term ˜herniation’ generally suggests that the bump on the disc is larger.

Both conditions can occur in either upper or lower spine. Common symptoms associated with disc issues in the upper spine include headaches and neck pain. Lower spine disc bulging or herniation can cause numbness, shooting leg or groin pain, sharp back pain, etc.

How Can Vax-D Help?

Vax-D spinal decompression therapy is an FDA approved, non invasive treatment that uses a table and harness to alternate your spine between gentle stretching and rest. The stretching (or decompressing) action creates negative pressure in the spine that causes the soft core of the disc to retract back into its original place, reducing the pressure on the nerve and alleviating the pain.

To learn more about non-surgical treatment of bulging and herniated discs, contact us today and get a consultation with a therapist.

Many conditions can be treated with spinal decompression. These include herniated discs,
degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and pinched nerves. Spinal decompression can also help to
relieve pain in the lower back, neck, and legs. The decompression process. The Spinal involves
gently stretching the spine using a traction device.
This helps to take pressure off of the discs and nerves in the spine compression is a treatment
that can be used to relieve pain in the back and neck. It is a non-surgical option that uses a
machine to stretch the spine. It can also be used to treat pain that radiates from the spine to other
parts of the body, such as the arms or legs. If you are considering spinal decimator pain, several
earn more about how it works and what it can treat. Spinal decompression is a form of traction
therapy used on the spine to produce several putative advantages, such as:
To encourage the retraction or relocation of the herniated or bulging disc material, create a
negative antiradical pressure. Reduce the pressure inside the disc so that healing nutrients and
other chemicals can enter the disc.

Slipped Disc

A slipped disc is a medical condition in which a disk between the vertebrae of the spine slips out
of place. This can be a very painful condition, as it can cause the vertebrae to rub against each
other, causing inflammation and pain. Spinal decompression can help to treat this condition by
gently stretching the spine and relieving pressure on the disks. This treatment can provide relief
from pain and help to prevent further future mage to the spine.

Bulging Disc

A bulging disc is a type of herniated disc that occurs when the inner gel-like substance of the disc
protrudes through a tear in the outer layer of the disc. This can put pressure on the nearby nerves,
causing pain. Bulging discs are often caused by wear and tear on the discs, which can occur with
age. They can also be caused by injury or overuse.

Herniated Disc

A herniated disc is a common spine injury that can cause severe pain and other problems. The
discs in your spine act as shock absorbers, and they can become damaged over time. A herniated
disc occurs when the outer layer of the disc tears, allowing the inner layer to bulge out. This can
put pressure on the spinal cord or nerves and cause pain.
Spinal decompression can help relieve pain from a herniated disc by gently stretching the spine.
This relieves pressure on the discs and nerves, which can help to reduce pain and other
symptoms. Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment option that can provide significant
relief for many people with herniated discs.
Most frequently in the lower back, and the spine. A herniated disc may cause discomfort,
numbness, or weakness in an arm or leg, depending on where it is located. Many patients with
herniated discs don’t have any symptoms. Those who do experience symptoms, typically get
better with time. Usually, the issue can be resolved without surgery.

Degenerating Discs

Degenerating discs are a common cause of back pain. The discs act as cushions between the
vertebrae, and over time they can wear down and become less effective at absorbing shock. This
can lead to pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion.
Spinal decompression can be an effective treatment for degenerating discs. The procedure
involves gently stretching the spine, which can help to take pressure off of the discs and allow
them to heal. In some cases, spinal decompression may also be combined with other treatments
such as massage or physical therapy.
If You Are Suffering From an Intense Back, Neck, or Leg Pain Ask Us About Vax-D Treatment.
We have had very favorable results and for many patients, it has given them their life back. Within
a few treatments, they were pain-free.
At the Chicago-based American Back Center, we use a combination of different Solutions such
as chiropractic care, physical therapy, spinal decompression, massage therapy, and acupuncture
to provide instant pain relief and heal the condition permanently using a holistic approach.
