In fact, low back pain is a horrible problem that is occurring more and more in large part because we are now a computer generation. Sitting in front of a computer all day does not help with lower back pain and carrying a backpack in school is also not a good thing. Luckily, there is hope. If you have lower back pain, you should look into chiropractic care as well as physical therapy your effort to cure your back pain. Today, doctors and researchers across the world are working to find ways to alleviate the pain of millions of sufferers. There are many causes for the lower back pain that you should know about. An important fact that must be remembered while talking about it is no one is immune to it. No matter whom you might be, no matter what you eat and no matter how old you are, low back pain can happen to you any time. The pain may be ordinary and could vanish in a day or two. However, if the pain persists for over two weeks, it is time for you to visit your doctor because in such cases the pain can turn unbearable in no time. Not many of us are lucky enough to have escaped lower back pain, which explains why it is the commonest excuses for people to miss office in the US. Many people might have been told that their back pain is caused by a herniated or bulging disc (sometimes called a "slipped disc"). Our spine has discs that work as shock absorbers preventing the bones from sustaining injuries. If any of the discs in the lower back bulges or herniates or "slips," it may cause severe lower back pain. The pain in one's lower back may also be caused by desiccated or degenerative disc disease. This occurs when the disc loses fluid, or dehydrates. The best protection from developing any of these conditions and thus experiencing this kind of pain is caution and regular exercise because the stronger your lower back, the lesser the chances of your suffering from lower back pain. Though unrelated to herniated discs or degenerative disc disease, one of the most common causes for lower back pain is muscle strain. This can be a consequence of several different reasons and situations. If you lifted heavy weight all of a sudden your back might not be able to take it. Similarly, if you jerked around abruptly, it could be a reason for why your back has been hurting so much for a few days. Keep in mind that the pain occurs when the muscles get torn or are strained beyond a certain point, which then causes inflammation. These problems all add up to you finding a person to help you with your back pain. Chiropractic can help, as can physical therapy. However, evidence now indicates that VAX-D is the more effective treatment protocol. |
