Risk Of Hnp

If you suffer from low back pain you should get it checked, as it might be a herniated disc, which can cause many more problems if it goes untreated. Damaged discs are dangerous, especially if they begin to bother your spinal cord and nerves. The sooner you get checked, the sooner you will be able to treat it and eliminate your low back pain. A herniated disc is dangerous because it can also damage your spine and cause other problems that can impair other parts of your body.

A herniated disc is damage to the wall of the discs. It's called the annulus, and it protects the gelatinous fluid within the disc and helps the disc cushion and separate your vertebrae. When the annulus weakens or tears, the annulus will bulge, or even rupture. As a result, nerves are very often irritated or "insulted," which can cause a number of problems. If a herniated disc is treated immediately, it might only cause some tingling or numbing sensations. If it gets to be a more serious problem, it might cause severe pain and other problems.

It is important to treat damaged discs as quickly as possible to prevent any serious and debilitating pain from arising. If a herniated disc gets to be too advanced, the condition can even start affecting your nervous system, which is never a good thing. When going in to find treatment, make sure you are as detailed and specific as possible so that they can correctly diagnose your low back pain.
