Dev Techniques MusculoskeletalThere is evidence that leads to the conclusion that the most common sports injury that occurs in college is musculoskeletal injuries which can require special techniques in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Sports physical therapy is unique in that there is much more muscle strengthening and rehabilitation than any other type of physical therapy. In order to treat athletes with their various injuries, you have to have a broad knowledge of different types of sports injuries in order to diagnose and treat them accordingly. For example, cross country runners are likely to have more foot and leg injuries than a football player that can easily injure any part of their body. The one thing that is critical to know is which injuries can be taken care of with less caution. As an example, an injury like Kevin Everett's could have been deadly had the sports therapists and physicians made one wrong move.
With some time, Everett will undergo some sports rehabilitation to get more movement back into his body. It will be a long a slow process and will require VERY special technique in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. In sports physical therapy, there is such a wide range of injuries; some that might be very similar and have the same symptoms. In order to treat an injury correctly, it is important to know the details of the injury to ensure that sports rehabilitation goes smoothly.
