Back Problems And Treatments

Sciatica is one kind of back pain that people of any age too often experience. The sciatic nerve runs from the lower back down through the buttocks and along the back of each leg. "Sciatica" is pain along this nerve. It is a relatively common form of back pain, and it is usually caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve from a herniated or bulging disc. Treatment for sciatica follows the lines of treatment for a slipped disc. Treatment with Connective Tissue Manipulation, the Mackenzie Exercise Regime, and chiropractic can reduce the tension around the spine and change the mechanics of the disc helping it to return to the normal position and resolve the problem.

However, spinal decompression is proving to be the most effective treatment for sciatica. If you are experiencing any kind of back pain, it is most likely because of the spine. The spine is the part of the body that affects a surprising number of our bodies functions. It is therefore vital that people pay attention to any kind of trouble in the back and take care of it as quickly as possible. In order to take care of your back, it is a good idea to read about it before going to a doctor.

This can help you with pinpointing what the issue is, and you can therefore get closer to the problem with your doctor. If the issue has been described as sciatica, it is good to understand a few things about the back problem. "Sciatica" is the Latin word for "Pain down the back of the leg" and is usually caused by "trapping" the sciatic nerve in the lower back. Usually, pain from sciatica affects only one side, the pain radiating through the buttocks. It then can move down the leg and is often associated with a constant pain on one side of the buttocks.

Pain in the leg and/or buttock that may be worse when sitting, and a burning or tingling down the leg, weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot or a shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up can occur as a result. While sciatica can be extremely painful and uncomfortable, it is rare that permanent nerve damage results. Most pain is due to inflammation and will improve with time.

The nerve pain is caused by a combination of pressure and inflammation on the nerve root, and treatment is centered on relieving both of these conditions. The pain from sciatica can be anything from infrequent and irritating to severe and debilitating. Instead of listening to the doctor stab at what the problem might be, doing your own research can really help you out. If you discover that there is pain caused by the one or more of the lower lumbar discs, VAX-D is a possible treatment that can help alleviate and even cure back problems through spinal decompression.
